2017 is off to a good start. My short film Maneki-neko, which I wrote and I directed, just got accepted into its first film festival. You can catch this cute ‘lil movie about a lovesick cat who becomes human at the Seattle Post Alley Film Festival.
In comedy news, my improv team Consenting Adults won second place at the Westside House Team Tournament. I’m so proud of this team and look forward to our third year of performing together. Also, my indie improv team Great Personality is doing a show at the Hollywood Improv Festival, and my sketch team Goldie has put together an hour long special of our best material to hit the stage January 25th at Westside Comedy!
My current project is to update my acting reel. Additionally, I’ll be honing my craft at the Annie Grindlay Studio. I look forward to more opportunities with BMG Talent and Puddle Management. In the meantime, you can catch me singing my heart out on the new web series Karaoke Divas.
Finally, this past election was devastating to me, but I’ve been channeling my frustration into art and organization. I was honored to Assistant Direct a PSA for the Woman’s March to Washington. I also marched with my fellow Film Fatales directors through downtown LA to protest the current state of affairs. It felt great to be surrounded by other creatives who are also fighting for a better future.
That’s all for now! Thanks for stopping by. I wish you all a wonderful year filled with love and success.
xo,
Elaine
