Was honored when the Independent Filmmakers of the Inland Empire asked me to speak at Pitzer College. I gave a presentation about film distribution to these lovely folks.

The LA Times wrote a great article about the Comedy Comedy Festival which is happening this weekend in Little Tokyo. I’ll be performing Saturday with my improv team Great Personality! We have special guests who will be there with us, like actors Albert Tsai and Krista Marie Yu from the hit show Dr. Ken. See you there!

The horror movie I directed, The Purgation, can now be found nearly everywhere! I still get excited whenever I see it on Redbox.

You can also find it on VOD + Digital. Here’s a short video where I explain things further:

I am so proud of this comedy for justice show that I helped produce. We raised a total of $634 for the LA Chapter of Black Lives Matter!
Even with the help of 3 co-producers, this production was a massive endeavor. In the end it was worth it and I’m so happy we pulled it off. In today’s world it sometimes feel like we are powerless against all the craziness that the nightly news channels out. Producing this show made me realize that there are people out there who care and want to change the world for the better, and that if we all come together, even if it’s only for one night, we can make a difference.

Also thrilled that the sketch I wrote as a cold open for the show got a fantastic response from the audience. Many thanks to my hilarious improv team for bringing their acting game. Love watching my work come alive onstage.

The new trailer for my horror film just hit the interwebs. Check it out and get excited for The Purgation’s release on VOD — August 16th!

It’s hard for me to get motivated to work-out, but with beach season just around the corner I’m more determined to schedule exercise rather than hope my brain will spontaneously decide to go for a run. So I joined a parks and rec basketball league! These ladies are so supportive (we’re all actors/comediennes) both on and off the court. Our team, The Los Angeles Nail Clippers, was also featured in an HBO documentary about the Pistol Shrimps. You might recognize their point guard, sarcasm goddess Aubrey Plaza. She and the rest of her UCB friends are responsible for hyping up LA’s women’s basketball scene. Just a couple years ago the rec season was in danger of being cancelled because there was only one other team they could play against. Now there are 12+ teams and two tiers. Slam dunk.
Had the amazing opportunity to cover the red carpet premiere of Dramaworld, a new series produced by Viki. For those of you who don’t watch Korean dramas religiously, Viki is a streaming website which features content from Asia, subtitled by a team of devoted fans.
You can check out my full rundown of the event on my blog. Yup, I review Korean spas and restaurants in my spare time. And I veejay for a music video broadcast station called KPOP-TV.

Going to drop this inspiring article about director Karyn Kusama here.
Kusama directed the critically acclaimed Girlfight and one of my personal (and apparently no one else’s) sci-fi favorite movies Aeon Flux.
The article chronicles her struggle to get work even after directing a hit and winning awards, mainly as a result of her gender and a broken Hollywood system.
15 years later, she finally has another hit on her hands… and it’s a horror! AND it’s an indie funded by Gamechanger films!
